Nationaal Visserijmuseum (Pastoor Schmitzstraat 5, Oostduinkerke, Belgium)
Group Exhibition
From June 17th to December 31st 2011
The exhibition "ZEEROTICA. On love and lust at the coast" tells a vibrant artistic story about passion and the sea. It's an invitation to an intimate journey through the nature, culture and every day life of people who live at the sea, with a touch of eroticism. You can discover important works of Paul Delvaux, Leon Spilliaert, Aloïs Boudry, Edgard Tytgat and of contemporary sculptor Johan Tahon.
On May 30th 2011 at 16h00, the yearly Prize for General Cultural Merits will be awarded at C-Mine Genk, by Flemish Minister of Culture, Mrs. Joke Schauvliege. The award is a design of Johan Tahon.
On May 8th at 16h00, Johan Tahon's 2,5m high bronze sculpture Offer will be inaugurated at the Rohrmeisterei-Plateau in Schwerte, Germany. The sculpture was acquired by the Kunstverein of Schwerte, where Tahon exhibited last year on the occasion of Ruhr2010.
Everybody is very welcome to join us at the inauguration that will be introduced by Mr. Arie Hartog, director of the Gerhard Marcks Haus in Bremen, Germany.
