Reniere&Depla are reinvited this year as guest curators in Villa de Omen, where they curated last year the project "La part des anges". Under the exhibiton title "Mais l’aile ne fait pas l’oiseau" they are presenting work from six artists in the historical context of the interwar dwelling.

Johan Tahon, Tamara Van San, Sven Verhaeghe, Reniere&Depla and Rein Dufait each walk their own individual course, but their paths are crossing here in this house. It is a special meeting in which the fragment distincts and liberates itself from a larger track but retains its own inherent pace.

Villa De Olmen is a listed building dating from 1926 on a unique location in Belgium. The house, owned by the family Callebaut, is partially furnished authentic and completely surrounded by a large garden park. The house declines a typical museum context, but it is just this domestic intimacy of the house that gives the project his eloquence.

"Mais ne fait l'aile pas l'oiseau" opens on Sunday, March 11, 2012 and can be visited every Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 18pm. The exhibition runs to April 1st and can also be visited by appointment.

Works by: Johan Tahon, Tamara Van San, Sven Verhaeghe, Reniere&Depla and Rein Dufait.

Compleet overzichtswerk 20 jaar beeldende kunst Johan Tahon
